As of Feb 8th, 2015, version 1.2.88 beta -> http://bit.ly/1A3dbF3 I worked on the script in Firefox (technically Waterfox) and got HTML5 working well. There doesn't appear to be an API function for annotations, so those are on by default in HTML5, unfortunately. I will get it working on Chrome before releasing this version.
