No Click Profile & ClearURLs is a “2-in-1” Userscript designed to improve your focus and comfort while watching YouTube. This script addresses two major issues that users often encounter: accidentally clicking on profiles in the comments section and *video URLs that are “cluttered” with tracking/playlist parameters. *

1. 🛡️ Profile Click Guard (Prevents Accidental Clicks)

Have you ever been engrossed in reading comments or wanted to click on a timestamp, but your finger slipped slightly and you ended up clicking on someone else's profile photo? As a result, the video stopped and you were thrown to their profile page. Very annoying, isn't it?

This script prevents that with a smart mechanism:

  • Click Interruption: If you click on someone's name or profile photo in the comment section, the script will hold back the navigation.
  • Pop-up Confirmation: A confirmation window will appear: “You clicked on a user's profile in the comments. Are you sure you want to move to that page?”
    • Select OK to proceed to the profile.
    • Select Cancel to stay on the video (accidental click).
  • Specific Scope: This feature is only active in the comments area. Profile links in the video description or sidebar still function normally.

2. 🧹 URL Parameter Cleaner YouTube often adds junk parameters to the URL in your browser's address bar, making the link long and including unwanted tracking or playlist data.

This script automatically removes the following parameters when the page loads:

  • si (Session/Tracking ID from the Share feature).
  • pp (Internal playback parameter).
  • list & index (Prevents videos from being forced into Playlist mode if you only want to watch that one video).

Result:

  • Before: youtube.com/watch?v=AbCdEfGh&list=PLxz...&index=3&si=xyz123
  • After: youtube.com/watch?v=AbCdEfGh

⌨️ Shortcuts & Tips

  • Quick Bypass: If you really want to visit someone's profile in the comments section and don't want the confirmation pop-up to appear, just hold down the Shift key when clicking on the profile.

🛠️ Compatibility

This script works well on modern browsers that support Userscript Manager (Tampermonkey, Violentmonkey, etc.):

  • Browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Brave, Safari.
  • Platforms: Desktop & Mobile Browsers (Kiwi Browser, Firefox Android).
  • Navigation: Supports YouTube's SPA (Single Page Application) navigation system (the script continues to run when you switch videos without reloading the page).

⚙️ Configuration (Optional)

If you know a little coding, you can edit the top part of the script (CONFIG) to:

  • Add/remove URL parameters you want to delete.
  • Change the confirmation text message to your desired language.
