QuickNav modifies the Google AI Studio interface by restoring classic navigation controls and adding a set of data management and UI tools. It provides features for saving prompts, managing chat links, controlling the input field, and customizing the workspace layout.
✨ Key Features
🚀 Navigation & In-Chat Search
- Scroll Controls: A control bar with First (⏫), Previous (🔼), Next (🔽), and Last (⏬) buttons. Holding a button triggers continuous scrolling. Scroll speed is adjustable in settings.
- Menu Search & Tooltips: Click the message counter to open the Index Menu. Searching filters the messages. Hovering over a search result opens a tooltip with highlighted matches and
‹ › arrows to jump between multiple matches in the same turn.
- Autoscroll Protection: Detects native middle-click autoscroll and temporarily disables script menu hover states to prevent accidental UI openings.
- Menu Hover Blocker: Disables the hover activation for the native "What's new" menu in the bottom left corner, requiring a direct click to open.
✍️ Input Control & Formatting
- Text Formatting Menu (New): A toolbar dropdown (
Alt + /) to wrap selected text in Markdown (bold, italic, code), brackets, or XML/HTML tags (e.g., <context>).
- Smart Paste: The Paste button prioritizes inserting text currently highlighted on the web page. If no text is selected, it falls back to the OS clipboard.
- Force Plain Text Paste: A toggle to bypass AI Studio's default behavior that converts long pasted text into attached
.txt files.
- Input Resizer: Toggles the input field height between Min, Mid, and Max states.
⚡ Workflow Utilities
- Quick Delete (New): Adds an inline trash icon to each chat message. Requires a double-click to confirm. An optional "Cascade Delete" setting removes associated model thoughts when a response is deleted.
- URL Healer / Multi-Account Support (New): If a chat link returns an "access restricted" error, the script sequentially tests your other active Google accounts (
/u/1/, /u/2/, etc.) to locate the authorized session and load the prompt.
- Inline Code Copy (New): Clicking any single-line code snippet within a chat message instantly copies it to the clipboard.
📚 Prompt Library & ⭐ Favorites
- Prompt Manager: Store, edit, and organize text prompts using custom color-coded tags. Added color palette selection when creating new tags.
- Favorites Manager: Bookmark specific chat URLs. Saved items now display the associated Google account name.
- Data Management: Both menus include Search, Import/Export (JSON) with metadata, and a 'Remove Duplicates' utility.
🧘 Workspace & UI Control (New)
- Zen Mode: A single toggle (
Alt + Z) that requests browser fullscreen, expands chat width, increases text size, and hides the left and right sidebars. Behavior is configurable in settings.
- Tabbed Settings & Presets: The settings panel is divided into categories. Font size and chat width adjustments now use predefined MIN, MID, and MAX presets instead of incremental steps.
- Header Integration: Theme, Favorites, and Zen Mode toggles are integrated directly into the native top header bar.

⚙️ Installation
Prerequisite: A userscript manager extension is required, and Developer Mode / Script Access must be enabled.
- Install a Userscript Manager:
- Configure The Manager (Chrome/Tampermonkey example):
- Pin the extension to your toolbar.
- Right-click the Tampermonkey icon and select Manage extension.
- Find the slider labeled Allow User Scripts and ensure it is turned on. This step is required for the script to execute.
- Install the QuickNav Script: Return to this page and click the green "Install this script" button. Confirm the installation in the new tab.
- Usage: Navigate to Google AI Studio. The script interface will load automatically within the chat environment.
