After selecting the text and pressing Alt+T, it shows "Translating..." but nothing happens.
Please describe exactly what you were trying to translate and attach a screenshot of the page. I suspect you might be using the script incorrectly or for a purpose it wasn't designed for, as it is working perfectly fine on my end. Make sure to show the element you selected in the screenshot.

Oh brother, if I had known it would be such a hassle, I wouldn't have given feedback at all. I just tried it out to see if I could find a good alternative to the translator extension I use. The way you're asking for an explanation, it feels as if I've become a criminal just for using your script. Anyway, here's the screen recording.
I can't provide any more details than this. https://app.screencast.com/GGZ9pgkJGq1bW
I'm sorry if my previous questions came across the wrong way; that wasn't my intention at all. I was only asking for details to understand why it wasn't working for you, as I couldn't replicate the issue on my end.
After seeing your recording, I've identified the problem: there is a misunderstanding regarding the script's purpose. This is a writing assistant, not a general page translator. It is designed to translate and replace text as you type inside editable fields (like comment boxes or forms).
It does not work on static text (like articles or news) because browsers prevent scripts from modifying that type of content. It isn't a bug; it's simply that the script wasn't built for reading/web translation, but for input productivity. I hope this clears things up!
Perhaps I was not very clear in the script description, however, I did mention in item 3 "How to Use":
3. Select a phrase, paragraph, or word that you have typed.
The script description may also not have been very clear; I apologize for that. I will rephrase the description on the page and in the script so there are no further misunderstandings.
