I figured it out: go to chrome://extensions or vivaldi:extensions (depending on your browser) → click "Details" on Tampermonkey → turn "Allow User Scripts" on. I assume it's the same idea for Firefox (about:addons): check Tampermonkey’s permissions if it doesn’t work there.
Yes for the latest Tampermonkey version you must give this permission.
doesnt work in Chromium on my end, only in Firefox
